{"id":10643,"date":"2021-09-23T14:00:37","date_gmt":"2021-09-23T18:00:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/notes.math.ca\/?post_type=article&#038;p=10643"},"modified":"2021-10-14T12:47:50","modified_gmt":"2021-10-14T16:47:50","slug":"2022-david-borwein-distinguished-career-award-3","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"https:\/\/notes.math.ca\/en\/article\/2022-david-borwein-distinguished-career-award-3\/","title":{"rendered":"2022 David Borwein Distinguished Career Award"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-post\" data-elementor-id=\"10643\" class=\"elementor elementor-10643\" data-elementor-post-type=\"article\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-28892f94 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"28892f94\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-3bd6daf3\" data-id=\"3bd6daf3\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-16c0d718 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"16c0d718\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS) invites nomination for the 2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/cms.math.ca\/awards\/david-borwein-award\/\"><strong>David Borwein Distinguished Career Award<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0 This prize recognizes mathematicians who have made exceptional, broad, and continued contributions to Canadian mathematics and is awarded every four years.\u00a0<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\">The award presentation will take place at the CMS Winter Meeting in December 2022 and a plenary lecture given by the recipient.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\">A complete nomination dossier consists of:<\/p><ul style=\"text-align: left;\"><li>A signed nomination statement from a present or past colleague, or collaborator (no more than three pages) having direct knowledge of the nominee\u2019s contribution;<\/li><li>A short curriculum vitae, no more than five pages;<\/li><li>Two to four letters of support in addition to the nomination;<\/li><li>Other supporting material may be submitted, no more than 10 pages.<\/li><\/ul><p style=\"text-align: left;\">CMS aims to promote and celebrate diversity in the broadest sense. We strongly encourage department chairs and nominating committees to put forward nominations for outstanding colleagues regardless of race, gender, ethnicity or sexual orientation.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\">The complete nomination and all documentation should be submitted electronically, preferably in PDF format, <strong>no later than November 15, 2021<\/strong>, to <a
