Ces courts essais ont permis de jeter un coup d&rsquo;\u0153il sur les pratiques des historiens et des philosophes avec les math\u00e9maticiens canadiens ; ils ont \u00e9galement r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 l&rsquo;\u00e9tonnante vari\u00e9t\u00e9 des int\u00e9r\u00eats de recherche et des activit\u00e9s professionnelles des membres de la SCHPM.<\/p>\n<p>Cependant, l&rsquo;invitation lanc\u00e9e en 2013 par Johan Rudnick, alors directeur ex\u00e9cutif de la SMC, qui a conduit \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation des Notes de la SCHPM, ne s&rsquo;est pas mat\u00e9rialis\u00e9e \u00e0 partir de l&rsquo;\u00e9ther. Au contraire, les deux soci\u00e9t\u00e9s sont li\u00e9es depuis bien avant l&rsquo;existence de la SCHPM. Kenneth O. May de l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 de Toronto (UT) et d&rsquo;autres historiens des math\u00e9matiques organisaient des s\u00e9ances lors des conf\u00e9rences du Congr\u00e8s math\u00e9matique du Canada au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 1970, et ils ont envisag\u00e9 de tenir la r\u00e9union de fondation de la SCHPM lors de la r\u00e9union d&rsquo;\u00e9t\u00e9 de 1974 \u00e0 l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 Laval avant de la tenir quelques jours plus t\u00f4t lors de la conf\u00e9rence des soci\u00e9t\u00e9s savantes \u00e0 l&rsquo;UT. Des s\u00e9ances sp\u00e9ciales sur l&rsquo;histoire des math\u00e9matiques ont continu\u00e9 d&rsquo;\u00eatre organis\u00e9es lors des r\u00e9unions de la SMC, et la SMC et la SCHPM ont tenu une conf\u00e9rence conjointe \u00e0 l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 McMaster en 1977.<\/p>\n<p>Tom Archibald et Louis Charbonneau, membres de longue date, ont \u00e9crit \u00ab Mathematics in Canada before 1945 : A Preliminary Survey \u00bb pour le demi-centenaire de la SMC en 1995 [1] ; les r\u00e9unions conjointes ont repris en 2000 \u00e0 l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 McMaster et en 2005 \u00e0 l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 de Waterloo ; et la SCHPM a organis\u00e9 une session sp\u00e9ciale de longue dur\u00e9e sur l&rsquo;histoire et la philosophie lors des r\u00e9unions d&rsquo;hiver au 21e si\u00e8cle. En 2005, la collection de conf\u00e9rences de la SCHPM (nomm\u00e9e en l&rsquo;honneur de May) a \u00e9t\u00e9 publi\u00e9e sous la marque SMC <em>Livres en math\u00e9matiques <\/em>[2].<\/p>\n<p>En plus de ces d\u00e9cennies d&rsquo;efforts communs pour faire avancer l&rsquo;histoire et la philosophie des math\u00e9matiques au Canada, la SCHPM invite les membres de la SMC \u00e0 se joindre \u00e0 l&rsquo;une ou l&rsquo;autre de ses multiples activit\u00e9s qui se d\u00e9roulent en ce moment m\u00eame. Nous nous r\u00e9unirons au George Brown College \u00e0 Toronto du 31 mai au 2 juin dans le cadre du Congr\u00e8s de la F\u00e9d\u00e9ration canadienne des sciences humaines. Le programme pr\u00e9voit une session g\u00e9n\u00e9rale pour tout sujet li\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;histoire ou \u00e0 la philosophie des math\u00e9matiques et une session sp\u00e9ciale sur le \u00ab changement conceptuel en math\u00e9matiques \u00bb.
