Jungic re\u00e7oit ce prix en reconnaissance de ses contributions exceptionnelles \u00e0 l\u2019enseignement des math\u00e9matiques.<\/p><p>Tout au long de sa carri\u00e8re, Veselin Jungic a fait avancer notre compr\u00e9hension de l\u2019enseignement des math\u00e9matiques et mis en \u0153uvre des solutions pratiques pour l\u2019enseignement. Il a document\u00e9 ses r\u00e9flexions et ses travaux dans une s\u00e9rie de plus de 40 publications li\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019enseignement des math\u00e9matiques afin de partager ses exp\u00e9riences avec les autres.<\/p><p>Veselin Jungic, \u00e9galement connu sous le nom de Veso dans la communaut\u00e9 math\u00e9matique, est professeur au D\u00e9partement de math\u00e9matiques de Simon . Il enseigne les math\u00e9matiques au niveau postsecondaire depuis 1978. M. Jungic est boursier national d\u2019enseignement de 3M et laur\u00e9at de plusieurs prix d\u2019enseignement, dont le prix d\u2019excellence en enseignement de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 math\u00e9matique du Canada et le prix d\u2019enseignement du Pacific Institute for Mathematical Sciences. La plupart de ses recherches portent sur la th\u00e9orie de Ramsey, l\u2019enseignement et de la diffusion des math\u00e9matiques. Il a re\u00e7u son baccalaur\u00e9at scientifique de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 libanaise \u00e0 Beyrouth et son doctorat de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 d\u2019Ottawa en 2001, o\u00f9 il a \u00e9crit une th\u00e8se sur une classe des d\u00e9rivations localement nilpotentes, un sujet reli\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019alg\u00e8bre commutative et \u00e0 la g\u00e9om\u00e9trie alg\u00e9brique.<\/p><p>Depuis 2001, M. Khoury occupe aussi le poste du directeur du centre d\u2019aide du d\u00e9partement de math\u00e9matiques et statistiques \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 d\u2019Ottawa et en charge du programme communautaire de ce d\u00e9partement. Durant sa riche carri\u00e8re, M. Khoury a re\u00e7u de nombreux prix et reconnaissances, dont le Prix du Professeur \u00e0 temps partiel de l\u2019ann\u00e9e de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 d\u2019Ottawa, le Prix de reconnaissance d\u2019une contribution exceptionnelle \u00e0 l\u2019exp\u00e9rience \u00e9tudiante et le Prix Graham Wright pour service m\u00e9ritoire de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 math\u00e9matique du Canada. M. De Simoi travaille principalement dans le domaine des syst\u00e8mes dynamiques, mais il a des int\u00e9r\u00eats tr\u00e8s vari\u00e9s, allant des syst\u00e8mes presque int\u00e9grables \u00e0 ceux fortement chaotiques. Il a travaill\u00e9 sur certaines des questions les plus significatives et exceptionnelles du domaine, de l\u2019\u00e9tude de l\u2019application standard jusqu\u2019aux propri\u00e9t\u00e9s statistiques des syst\u00e8mes partiellement hyperboliques.<\/p><p>Apr\u00e8s avoir obtenu un baccalaur\u00e9at et une ma\u00eetrise en Physique de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Pise, en Italie, Jacopo De Simoi a re\u00e7u son doctorat en math\u00e9matiques \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 du Maryland, en 2009. Sa th\u00e8se de doctorat contient des r\u00e9sultats remarquables et impressionnants pour un jeune math\u00e9maticien \u00e0 cette \u00e9tape de sa carri\u00e8re. Dauvergne a contribu\u00e9 de fa\u00e7on significative \u00e0 la r\u00e9solution de trois probl\u00e8mes en probabilit\u00e9 qui explique, entre autres, un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne qui pr\u00e9occupent les chercheur.e.s en probabilit\u00e9, en combinatoire et en physique statistique. Le ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne est ceci : les syst\u00e8mes al\u00e9atoires montrent des traits curieusement non al\u00e9atoires.<\/p><p>Duncan Dauvergne a obtenu son doctorat \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Toronto en 2019 sous la direction de B\u00e1lint Vir\u00e1g. Il est l\u2019auteur et le collaborateur de plusieurs articles publi\u00e9s dans les journaux prestigieux tels que\u00a0<em>The Annals of Probability<\/em>,<em>\u00a0Annales de l\u2019Institute Henri Poincar\u00e9<\/em>, et\u00a0<em>Transaction of the AMS<\/em>. In the following years, Dr. Levesque completed his Ph.D. at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Wei est le laur\u00e9at 2020 du prix Jeffery-Williams de la SMC pour ses contributions fondamentales au d\u00e9veloppement th\u00e9orique et aux applications interdisciplinaires des \u00e9quations aux d\u00e9riv\u00e9es partielles non-lin\u00e9aires. La recherche de M. Wei est remarquable par sa profondeur, son originalit\u00e9 et son impact. Elle est notamment reli\u00e9e au d\u00e9veloppement d\u2019outil d\u2019analyse math\u00e9matique et \u00e0 leur application pour mieux comprendre des ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes en physique et biologie donn\u00e9s par des mod\u00e8les math\u00e9matiques.<\/p><p>Juncheng Wei a re\u00e7u son doctorat en math\u00e9matiques \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 du Minnesota en 1994. Il fut un chercheur postdoctoral \u00e0 SISSA, en Italie, avant de devenir professeur \u00e0 la Chinese University of Hong Kong, o\u00f9 il a travaill\u00e9 de 1995 \u00e0 2012. Elle re\u00e7oit le prix Krieger-Nelson pour son oeuvre couvrant une grande vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de sujets, incluant les motifs, la K-th\u00e9orie et la g\u00e9om\u00e9trie arithm\u00e9tique.<\/p><p>Il y a une dizaine d\u2019ann\u00e9es, Sujatha a rejoint le D\u00e9partement de ath\u00e9matiques \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Colombie-Britannique en tant que titulaire d\u2019une Chaire de recherche du Canada de type I. Elle a continu\u00e9 de travailler sur les motifs, la K-th\u00e9orie et la th\u00e9orie d\u2019Iwasawa.
