Calls for Nominations
September 2025 (Vol. 57, No. 4)

The CMS invites expressions of interest for the Research Editor of the CMS Notes; one or two editors are being solicited, with a five-year term to commence January 1, 2026.  A Research Editor does not necessarily need expertise in a wide range of mathematical disciplines but should have an interest in mathematics outside their own research area. A Research Editor should have contacts in multiple areas of mathematics and at several universities, ideally distributed across Canada.

CMS Notes is the official newsletter of the Canadian Mathematical Society and is an important medium of communication between the Society and its members, and the Canadian mathematical community.

It features articles on research, education, meetings and conferences, book reviews, calendar of events, awards and calls for nominations, and news from math departments and other institutions and employment opportunities. CMS Notes is an online-only publication and is published six times a year (February, March/April, June, September, October/November and December).

Expressions of interest should include a cover letter, your curriculum vitae, and an expression of views regarding the publication.  Being the Research Editor of Notes would include 6 or more articles a year by as determined by the Research Editor. The Research Editor also reviews all articles and submissions n their section before publication.

Please submit your expression of interest electronically to: Notes-letters@cms.math.ca  before October 31, 2025.
